My name is Sarah Wellman, and I am the founder and caregiver behind our licensed home daycare in Medford, MA.
My passion for working with children comes from more than 10 years of hands-on childcare experience in both daycare and home settings. Before opening Medford Family Daycare, I worked as a lead teacher in a daycare, caring for toddlers and preschool-aged children in a structured classroom environment. I also worked as a nanny, providing individualized care for young children and supporting families through important developmental stages and daily routines.
Opening Medford Family Daycare has been a dream of mine to create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel supported, families feel connected, and each child receives individualized attention in a small-group setting.
I believe children learn best through play, exploration, consistency, and caring relationships. Our bilingual (Portuguese/English) home daycare blends play-based learning inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches to encourage independence, creativity, curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning.
At Medford Family Daycare, my goal is to create a home away from home where children feel safe, cared for, and excited to learn each day while giving families peace of mind knowing their child is in loving and capable hands.
